Back to the drawing board

From Gulfnews.com

Jenin, West Bank: The grieving parents of a Palestinian boy shot by Israelis who mistook the toy gun he was holding for the real thing have donated their son’s organs for transplant in a bid to promote peace.

Several thousand people, including hundreds of children from 12-year-old Ahmad Al Khatib’s school flooded the streets of Jenin for his funeral yesterday.

Ahmad, who was shot by Israeli troops during clashes in Jenin on Wednesday, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.

“We have no problem whether it is an Israeli or a Palestinian [who receives his organs] because it will give them life,” the boy’s mother, Ablah Al Khatib, said.

Esmail Al Khatib said the decision to donate his son’s organs for transplant stemmed from a desire to answer violence with a concrete gesture of peace.

“I have taken this decision because I have a message for the world: that the Palestinian people want peace - for everyone,” he said. “I am trying to do something humane at the same time that the Israeli army is killing our sons.”

Wow. Just when you think the Palestinians are incapable of making any sort of redeeming gesture or act of goodwill something like this happens and rehumanizes the whole Palestinian Issue. Damn them! How the hell are the Israelis going to continue their "genocide" ?(genocide label pending the conclusion of the act hence their reluctance to just get it over with...can't we just call a spade a spade?)

The best part of the story is that the parts went into Israeli children. You mean, Israelis and Palestinians have the same kind of vital organs? They're similar species?

But how can that be? Isn't one group meant to be "the monster" and the other one "the saints"? Which is which?

This craziness has spun my world outta control. How about yours?
